BOSCH Connected Service Diagnostics
Proposed workshop diagnostics & telemetry platform

The challenge
Diagnostic data sits inside individual tools and vehicles. Workshops react to failures instead of predicting them, and parts planning is guesswork.
A proposed platform that streams equipment and vehicle diagnostic telemetry into one workshop console for fault detection, service scheduling and parts planning.
Our role: Proposed scope: platform engineering, IoT integration, analytics
Architecture decisions
Standardised telemetry ingestion
Device and vehicle signals are normalised at the edge before reaching the platform, so new tool models plug in without rework.
Fault patterns, not raw logs
Anomaly detection turns continuous readings into ranked service actions a technician can act on.
Service and parts in one loop
Predicted faults feed scheduling and parts demand, so the component arrives before the vehicle does.
Enterprise-grade integration
Java/Spring services expose secured APIs for existing dealer and ERP systems rather than replacing them.
System architecture
- 01EdgeC++ collectors normalising device and vehicle signals
- 02APIJava + Spring Boot services, OAuth2, audit logging
- 03DomainDiagnostics, anomaly detection, scheduling, parts demand
- 04DataPostgreSQL time-series store with retention policies
- 05OpsDocker/Kubernetes deployment, metrics and alerting
Results
A concept engagement scoped by NJS Digital Tech: workshops move from reactive repair to predictive service, with diagnostics, scheduling and parts planning in one console.
