Infinix AI Assistant
On-device conversational assistant experience

The challenge
Assistant experiences built for flagship devices and fast networks feel slow and expensive on the mid-range handsets most East African users actually carry.
A conversational AI assistant experience for mobile users — natural language help, voice input and device-aware answers with low latency on mid-range hardware.
Our role: AI engineering, mobile integration, conversation design
Architecture decisions
Hybrid on-device and cloud routing
Short, common intents resolve locally; only complex reasoning is sent upstream, cutting both latency and data cost.
Grounded answers with RAG
Responses are retrieved from a curated knowledge base before generation, so the assistant explains rather than improvises.
Voice-first on low bandwidth
Speech capture is compressed and streamed, keeping voice usable on 3G-class connections.
Bilingual by design
The assistant understands and replies in English and Kiswahili, matching how users actually speak.
